MWF assisted Norit B.V. with the market introduction of one of its products for which Aidenvironment conducted market research in 2005. MWF devised a business model to serve a promising product/market combination the study identified and selected partners to set up and finance businesses with Norit.

MWF assisted the Water-Right Foundation with drawing up a business plan, finding partners and attracting funds. The Water-Right Foundation is committed to improving water facilities in developing countries. It does so through a combination of local production and microcredit facilities.

MWF helped the foundation mitigate the donor-driven approach of its “Water for Keren” project in favour of a more commercial operation. MWF supported this process mainly by reviewing and finalising the business plan, building the consortium and attracting financial resources.
D.o.b. foundation is a Dutch-based organisation that supports and invests in social entrepreneurs who identify commercial opportunities in social issues. In 2005 it launched the “Water for Keren” project to provide sustainable water services to the inhabitants of Keren, Eritrea.

MWF helped the RAIN Foundation identify interesting business prospects involving a combination of proven rainwater harvesting systems and micro and meso finance instruments.
RAIN is an international network which strives to increase access to water for the vulnerable sections of society in developing countries, women and children in particular, by collecting and storing rainwater.

MWF helped Safi Sana compile a robust business plan with which funding has successfully been secured.
An initiative of Aqua for All, Safi Sana develops community-based public toilet services in Ghana. An important aspect of the revenue model is the use of excreta as fertilizer, compost or as a feedstock for the production of biogas.

MWF has provided major imput for the development of the market strategy for a successful introduction of its Siphon ceramic water filter in Mozambique.
Connect International organizes small-scale and sustainable self-help projects in developing countries. Over the past few years, the Foundation has helped hundreds of villages, particularly in the area of drinking water, education and healthcare. Besides in Mozambique, Connect International is exploring the possibility of introducing the Siphon ceramic water filter in Tanzania.

MWF introduced Leaf to Utz Kapeh, one of the world's largest coffee certification programmes. MWF developed a proposal with Leaf and pitched the project to a well-known Dutch foundation, asking for financial support.
Developed by Leaf Wageningen, the Waterharmonica is an artificial ‘wetland’ that filters and purifies runoff water from coffee plantations. The runoff is a major pollutant of rivers and other water sources. Leaf is collecting the know-how required to combat this type of pollution and will compile a best practice guide addressing both the technical and commercial aspects. The project also includes a funding plan for coffee entrepreneurs.

MWF assisted with the formation of a consortium aimed at providing broad support for the development of its Urea Harvesting Device (UHD).
Developed by Zonnewater, the UHD is a promising urine processing unit which utilizes the residual heat of buildings (e.g., the hot air from air conditioning systems) to reduce urine to urea by evaporation. Being smaller in volume, the residue can be more efficiently transported and can be recycled as a component in the production of fertilizers.

Aqua Est Europe BV is a commercial company that specializes in the development of water purification products. The Cerise Ceramic ball is such a product. Among other things, this product extends the storage life of water in rain harvesting tanks.

On May 12th the first Sujol plant was opened officially. This plant produces 200 liters an hours. The water quality is within Bangladeshi standards. The plant reduces Salinity up till 97% and Arsenic from 370 ppm to 30 ppm. Sujol water taste nearly as good as mineral water and beats the taste of water treated by comparable alternatives easily.
