Sujol means good water in Bengali. Together with our partners Akvo, Proportion, Voltea and DAM, we install three water devices in Bangladesh, removing Arseen out of the water.
Lieke (Proportion, see picture) and Kim (Voltea) just arrived in Dhaka. Lieke will execute a social marketing study and Kim will install the CAP DI equipment of Voltea into the Sidco equipment. This will be challenging as the CAP DI has been damaged during the transport from Leiden to Dhaka, however if all works out well we make an important step towards our goal to provide clean water to 30.000 vollages in Bangladesh.
On May 12th the first Sujol plant was opened officially. This plant produces 200 liters an hours. The water quality is within Bangladeshi standards. The plant reduces Salinity up till 97% and Arsenic from 370 ppm to 30 ppm. Sujol water taste nearly as good as mineral water and beats the taste of water treated by comparable alternatives easily.
